Liyuan Zhang

When I was a child, I developed a strong love for art. Even though I didn't start painting until 30 years later as an adult when I moved from California to the scenic town of Juneau, Alaska with my family in early 2020. The breathtaking landscapes of Alaska captivated me and reignited my childhood dream of becoming an artist. I devoted more and more of my time to painting, and eventually, I was able to turn my passion into a full-time career as an independent artist.

Alaska’s unique and stunning natural landscapes bring me an immense amount of artistic inspiration. As a result, I focus on painting Alaska's beautiful landscapes and wildlife using a variety of mediums including acrylics, pastels, charcoals, pyrography, etc.

Creating art is an incredibly important part of my life because it gives me the opportunity to express and share my thoughts with the world. My art has come a long way in the past two years, and I am so proud of how it has been recognized and supported by local art institutions and audiences. Winning awards has been a great motivator for me to keep developing and exploring my creative side. As an emerging artist, I am passionate about sharing the beauty of Alaska with people all over the world.
