Michelle was born in Washington State and spent her early adult life in the Pacific Northwest. She is married to John Morrell, who is retired from the Forest Service. They have one adult child, Jennifer Morrell.

Michelle has sold her art in Southeast Alaska since 1984. Currently she spends a lot of time making ceramic objects and painting, with only occasional relief prints. Her favorite subjects are children, animals from a distance, and seascapes.

Aside from Juneau Artists Gallery, Michelle’s prints and cards can be found in gifts shops throughout the Pacific Northwest. She has participated in art juried shows since 1987, and was selected to show at Juneau Arts & Humanities in 2004 and 2005.
